BelCel JV is the associated member of the Carriers Counsel of RCC since the foundation of this organization.
In the report the Director General has noted that the modernization of NMT-450 on the basis of IMT-MC-450 technology (cdma2000) enables to provide the network throughput capacity and coverage area several times as much as compared to the digital technologies of previous generations allowing the operator to serve more subscribers and provide major capacity of the wireless traffic. With regard to the increase of the subscriber number, trends on price reduction and consequently – the increase in using telecom services - the network throughput capacity becomes a determinative.
BelCel JV evaluates the commercial reliability of the network modernization using cdma2000 technology as of high degree of reliability. PJSC JSCB “Infobank” as a participant of BelCel JV Ltd. with the share equals to 17 % provides maximum financial support to this project.
Today the investments at the amount of about USD 10 million have been attracted and used for BelCel modernization.
Participants of the Conference showed their interest to the new technology. Head of the Department of Ministry of Telecommunications of Russia Mr. Viktor Kvitsinsky said that the Ministry of Telecommunications of Russia had been already granted 8 licenses to provide the services in IMT-MC-450 standard (cdma2000).
